I’ve been living in NYC for almost one year now and I am super inspired by the cultural diversity of the city. In my illustration I wanted to depict a street inspired by the neighborhood of East Harlem, (Spanish Harlem or “El Barrio” as some locals call it) I included some elements that represent some of the things that a lot of hispanic cultures have to offer to the US such as our food, art, music, and things that have become part of everyday New York like bodegas or corner stores that were popularized in the mid-twentieth century by Puerto Ricans.
